"Life" is a brand-new show airing this Fall on NBC, in the 10:00 PM timeslot, beginning on Wednesday, September 26. As I've mentioned in a few other of the "A Sneak Peek At..." series of articles I've recently written, Amazon Unbox made the pilot episodes of a few new TV series (including "Life," "Chuck," "Journeyman," "The Big Bang Theory" "K-Ville" and "Bionic Woman"), available for download, before their air date, completely free of charge.

I took advantage of the opportunity and grabbed them all, and am now in the process of providing you, the reader, with a synopsis of each show, and a few thoughts I have on each.

WARNING: These synopsis sections are really nothing more than a complete, blow-by-blow account of exactly what happens in each show. So, if you plan to watch these shows when they air, and want to be surprised, then this may not be the review for you. If you want to find out what's going to happen, on the other hand, read on...

When "Life" opens, we see a series of interview shots, all of them talking about Charlie Crews, who we also see, interspersed between the interview segments. As the interview subjects talk about Charlie Crews, we find out that he was a policeman, and ended up getting a life sentence for a crime he did not commit. Everyone around him, despite his protests of innocence, deserted Charlie, including his ex-wife. After being in prison for more than a decade, Charlie was freed when - after his case was opened again - it was shown that he was innocent.

Charlie, during his time in prison, was - according to one interview subject - in the prison infirmary more than not, because a policeman in jail is not someone who's treated with a lot of love. He was beat up, knifed, and generally abused.

Charlie Crews, who spent the last 12 years of his life in prison for a murder he did not commit.
