Product Review: Non-Fat Over the Moon Milk

Product Review: Non-Fat Over the Moon Milk: Garelick Farms has done it: they created Over the Moon Milk, a non-fat milk that does not taste like all of the flavor was skimmed out. This non-fat milk claims to be as creamy as two percent, and it actually does.

Garelick Farms actually offers a money-back guarantee to consumers. These money-back guarantees are becoming more popular with food
 producers.

Two Percent vs. Non-Fat

Those of you who don't need to watch your weight probably don't care much about a non-fat milk that tastes like two percent. To the rest of us, though, it is a perfect addition to a well-balanced diet.

Taste

Over the Moon really does taste like two percent milk. I did a taste test, because I happened to buy milk of different percentages for my family members. The Over the Moon was as creamy and flavorful as the two percent drink.

The only time the Over the Moon tasted less creamy than two percent milk was when I mixed it into a cup of coffee. The creaminess did not seem to hold up as well as when it was consumed on its own.

Flavors

Over the Moon from Garelick Farms comes in a variety of flavors. I usually purchase the fat-free flavor in the blue container. Chocolate is also available.

All Natural

My favorite phrase on any food or beverage product is "All Natural." Garelick Farms does not sell milk from farmers who use artificial growth hormones.

Nutritionally

Besides not consuming any fat with a nice cold glass of Over the Moon, consumers can also find added nutritional benefits.

Over the Moon is more nutritious than other skim versions, as well as regular 2 percent milk.

This fat-free drink contains 350 mg of calcium whereas regular 2 percent milk contains 300 mg of calcium. Also, there are two extra grams of protein per serving, with 10, compared to the usual eight found in two percent milk.

Best of all, that five grams of fat found in two percent is not included in this nonfat beverage.

Availability

Over the Moon can be found in local grocery stores throughout New England.

Over the Moon reminds me of Abbott's Mighty Milk from the 70s. These mighty no-fats are made by adding dry milk, I believe.

Good article, I like Garelick Farms products. Years ago, I drove big trucks for a living and used to talk with their drivers regularly. Sometimes, they would give me free samples.

Ok I got off my lazy ass and looked in the Fridge. Asens is the name of it. I cannot tell the difference between this and whole milk.

There is one over here like that. I forget the name of it but it was a great discovery. I know it when I see it. HA!

I live down south, but maybe I could find this in Walmart.

Curious what they did to it to make it creamy- additives?
