This is one alleged bank robber who has no luck at all. Either that or, if he is guilty of the charges that are now pending against, he likes the prison life. Kenneth A Cunningham, 39 years of age, was arrested by members of the Chicago FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF) at a relative's home in northwest Indiana, which was his last known address, and charged with the February 15, 2007 robbery of the Chase Bank branch, located at 5134 North Clark Street in Chicago.

He was apprehended due to help from two members of the public who called in tips to the Violent Crimes Task Force after seeing a local television newscast broadcast on September 6th of this year, during which they showed a photograph of the robber that had been taken by the banks surveillance camera. Both of them named Cunningham as the man in the picture.

During the course of the investigation they found out that at 10 AM on the morning of the robbery, Cunningham was released from the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) in Chicago After serving 87 months for a bank robbery that had taken place in 1995. They also determined that during the Chase Bank robbery, he was wearing the same clothes that he had been issued to him on his release from prison earlier in the day.

Cunningham is scheduled to appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Maria Valdez in Chicago, later today. At that time, he will be formally charged with bank robbery. If he is convicted of the bank robbery charges pending against him, Cunningham faces a possible sentence of up to 20 years in prison.

He only been charged in a complaint up to this point and is considered innocent until he either pleads guilty to the charges or is found guilty in a court of law.

The Chicago FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force is made possible by the cooperation of several federal and local law enforcement agencies, namely Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agents, Detectives from the Chicago Police Department and Investigators from the Cook County Sheriff's Police Department.
