Girl Frenzy Dies Down to No Frenzy

What concert has Sheryl Crow, Avril Lavigne, Fiona Apple, Miranda Lambert, Colbie Caillat, and Sara Barreilles all performing during their first annual event? Apparently none, because this was the line up for 'Girl Frenzy" which has now been postponed until an unnamed date in 2008.

Originally the event was scheduled for Saturday, October 27 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, CA. However, as announced via the official Myspace page, that concert has been canceled. The festival is a project created by Right Arm Entertainment, who in the past were responsible for Rock On The Range Festival at Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio; a sold out affair that they seem quite proud of. Live Nation was also involved in the project as well as a second stage of performers to have been sponsored by KEWL Magazine

The set backs with Girl Frenzy, however, aren't all sunshine with some fans voicing complaints abut money refunds. It has been stated that refunds are to be distributed at the location where you purchased your tickets, yet the full purchase price is being docked around $5 in many cases; such practices are being reported involving Ticketmaster by irate customers across the internet. Yes, by across the internet I mean message boards, chat rooms, and entertainment blogs abound with Girl Frenzy news have these sorts of comments piling in. Actually I had not heard of Girl Frenzy until I picked up a copy of Entertainment Weekly and spied their one page ad, so now if you had not heard of it either and live in California don't feel bad: you didn't miss anything.

An explanation as to why the show was canceled has not been released or explained nor whether or not fans should have any concerns that the 2008 reincarnation will not get off of the ground. Was it a financial thing? Will they get the same acts? Will getting frenzied about the girls be worth it?
