The HYIP is a plan that promises instant wealth. It allows people to dream that they can be as rich as possible in a short amount of time. The HYIP takes into consideration that people want this so badly that they abandon their good senses to take part in the investment.
The principle for the HYIP program has been around for more than 100 years. It is based on the idea that people all want to get as rich as possible by doing as little as possible. The HYIP program is a modern-day spinoff of the Ponzi scheme. The Ponzi scheme was proliferated in the early 20th century by a man named Charles Ponzi although the concept existed far earlier. The idea behind the Ponzi was to get investors to put money into a fund for a specific amount of time and then get a large yield on their investment. The way the scheme worked is that money from new investors was used to pay the profits to the old investors. The scheme works well until there are not enough new investors to support the payouts. Then, the plan folds and those who are new investors lose their investments.
People want to believe that they can get in on something where they can make lots of money with little or no work. The HYIP is popular because it allows people to make investments and get high returns from them quickly. The plan typically works well for those who are among the first to invest. As the program gains momentum those who invested first are often making even more than they dreamed possible. This success along with greed makes them continually re-invest in the program. They think that if they invested $100 and made ten times that if they invest more they will make even more money.
