Nearly 30 University of Denver faculty and adjunct faculty members will have their art featured in an exhibit in the Myhren Gallery from September 27-November 18, 2007.
The gallery is dedicated to Victoria H. Myhren and her husband Trygve Myhren, whom after graduating from the University of Denver with her Bachelor's degree funded a large endowment to support the gallery.

According to a University of Denver press release, Dan Jacobs, director of the Myhren Gallery, asked faculty and adjunct faculty members to display their art in the museum so that both the University community and the greater Denver-area community could see what the faculty are really about.

Not only does the Myhren Gallery, located in the Shwayder Art Building at the University of Denver currently display artistic works from the art school's students, it also exhibits regional, national, and international works of art.

According to the University of Denver's press release, the exhibit set to start on the 27th will include print-making, ceramics, instillation, painting, drawing, photography, electronic performance, and sculpture. "Beauty" is the exhibit's theme.

Some of the artwork scheduled to display in the Myhren Gallery include photography and sculpture by Professor Lawrence Argent. The photographs he selected for the exhibit were taken when he toured toy manufacturing plants in Quanzhou City, China.

In two big photographs scheduled to appear in the exhibit, Professor Agent plays with the focal length in his camera, which makes something familiar soften its edges and blends easily into the rest of the photo, according to the University of Denver press release. Gallery visitors can see if they can guess the object portrayed in the photos.
