You can make whimsical animals out of Sculpey Clay. I love making them and they are really very easy. I like to make them out of the white and terracotta colored clay. There are many different colors that you can buy and the clay goes a lot further than you may think. It seems rather expensive but if you buy it on sale or in a large box of one color it is not that bad.

KIDS LOVE PLAYING WITH IT AND SO WILL YOU

You may think that you have to have a lot of artistic talent to create these animals but you don't. I will guide you in this article on how to make a rabbit out of Sculpey Clay.

The first thing you need is a box of Sculpey Clay. In this article I have made one out of white clay for you to use as a reference.

You need a little aluminum foil.

You need three beads or you can use black or any color of Sculpey Clay for eyes and a nose.

Have a couple of toothpicks handy to use to put the head and body together.

You can use a toothpick for making etching on the rabbit.

PUTTING YOUR SCULPEY CLAY RABBIT TOGETHER

Make two balls out of aluminum foil, one should be twice as large as the other.

Take a toothpick and stick one end into the large ball and the other end into the smaller ball near the top, but not on top. This is your armature for your bunny body.

Roll your Sculpey Clay to condition and soften it. You will want clean hands especially if you are using the white clay. Flatten in out either with your hands or you can roll it out with a rolling pin, or pasta maker, which you don't want to use with food products.

Gently roll the clay over the armature. Form it around the armature and shape it into a rabbit body. Anyway you want is okay. It is your bunny!

Take a large ball of clay about the size that you used for the body of the rabbit and separate it into one larger ball. You will separate this into two balls. You will separate another ball into smaller balls of the same size. Then you will separate another ball into two other balls about the same size as the last ball. You will make these into fat snakes. The pictures will be your guides
