Every generation has its defining moments. Some may remember what they were doing when the Berlin Wall fell to the ground. Others may recall what they felt when they first heard four English kids who called themselves the Beatles. However, the defining moment of today's generation may very well be its saddest. When the Twin Towers of New York City fell to terrorism on a September morning in 2001, life as it was known in the United States, and indeed around the world, changed forever. The people of America were soon greeted with color-coded warnings every night on the evening news. President George W. Bush introduced the country to the new "Axis of Evil." Citizens of the United States were given easy answers to their questions. They were told who the new enemy was and where he could be found; they were even given a face to look for. Most of all, it was repeated over and over again that Iraq, a small country in the Middle East was part of the new Axis of Evil. Above all else, however, the people of America were lied to. Despite the history of weapon development in the country, Iraq was not a member of the Axis of Evil. The country was simply not a threat to the free world or the United States of America.
