What Causes Manic Depression?

The first link I got when I researched "Manic Depression" on the internet had the following to say:

"The exact cause of bipolar (Manic Depression) disorder is unknown."

They still don't know what causes the "Condition." Note that I call it a "Condition" rather than a "Disease", "Disorder", or "Mental illness" as psychiatrists do. Psychiatrists are way off base by trying to treat the "Condition" As a "Disease". Treating the "condition" as a "Disease" is like treating a person who loves a certain activity, such as a golfer, a sports fan, a coin collector, etc, for a "Disease". It is not caused by a chemical imbalance, like diabetes is. It is not caused by a bacterium or virus, like Aids is. It is not a malfunction of the brain like epilepsy is.

I am a computer programmer and have had "Manic-Depression" for nearly forty years. With my background in computers, I can tell you that our brains work like a computer. They control all of the functions of our body. There are certain functions that we cannot consciously control, like the beating of our heart. The "Sub-Conscious" part of our brain controls them. When you know something but you can't recall it at the moment, such as a certain word or phrase, it has not been erased from your memory, it is still stored there. Just stop fighting the recall problem and go on to something else. The word or phrase will come to you. Our conscious thought processes are like a computer processing data. In other words, when we think about something, our brains are analyzing data like a computer processor. Computers have devices like a keyboard, a mouse and a disk to input data into their memories. Once the data is in the computer's memory, the computer can process the data. Our brains work similarly.

I'm guessing you were in a manic state when you wrote this, as much as it rambles and makes no sense in many area, or is just plain delusional. :)

There is no such this as an IQ of 300, let alone 500. Not on any of the commonly used tests, anyway. I get your point, just wanted to point that out.

Good crticism, what's wrong with it other than I disagree vehemently with the way "Bi-polar" is being treated and that I am being treated as a pyria when I know that the enlightened ideas I've had came during the Manic state. Try reading my follow up!
