Jimmy Eat World has been around for quite some time now, they're truly one of those extremely brilliant bands that don't get the recognition or musical credit that they deserve. I constantly refer to Jimmy Eat World's front-man, Jim Adkins as a musical god and throughout their entire career they have never failed to amaze me, make my heart race while also placing their all into their live performances whether it's in front of an audience of ten or ten thousand.

I've recently had the pleasure of getting a hold of their upcoming album entitled Chase This Light which will be officially released to the public on October 16th. The anticipation of waiting for the official release date was entirely too much for me to bare sanely so imagine my enthusiasm as I was able to listen to the raw unaltered version of their latest musical masterpiece which I found to be long overdue as far as waiting is concerned.

Along with their signature sound, lyrics that will actually make you think beyond the sound itself and vocals that is liable to make hearts melt across the entire globe, this album is definitely a keeper and one that should adorn everyone's collections whether they're familiarized with the band or not.

To start off the album, track one is entitled Be Sensible and I want to compare it to the likes of a ballad considering the tempo.

"The static of the silence, don't know which is worse. The dial isn't broken that's the way it works. To the new professionals, irregular is normal..."

The second track also happens to be the first single from the latest album and is entitled Big Casino. It's an upbeat track and it never fails to keep your toes tapping against the floor in sync with the rhythm of the song.

"Back when I was younger, I was someone you'd have liked. Got an old guitar I've had for years I'd let you buy and I tell you something else, that you ain't tried enough to know, there's still some living left when your prime comes and goes..."

Track three is the song that earned the latest it's title, Chase This Light. It's also more of a lighter, mellow tune. But then again, a lot of Jimmy Eat World's music is deliciously light, mellow and meaningful.

Yeah um, this isn't the album I have. Jew is my favorite band, and this album is great musically, but the lyrics are just pure pop and lack the element of strong emotional poetry that was seen in previous albums.

Wow. Either you lack the awareness that this thing you managed to get a hold of was leaked demos or you just lied to sound cool. Either way, it's a bit sad coming from a reviewer.
