Holiday cards have become increasingly popular because of their simple, yet touching, effect. Cards are never off season or outdated, and the warmth and comfort of receiving one seem endless and unique each time. Although you may have received dozens of holiday cards in the past, the very same spirit rekindles within you every time a new one comes in.Even though kind words of merriment and cheer for Christmas are sentimental enough to make cards worth keeping for a lifetime, you still can add new and creative ideas to make yours even better. It is always interesting to watch people's faces when they see something out of the ordinary; so here are some alternative ideas for holiday cards.
1. Decorative. Shape your holiday cards into something that can be used decoratively. Great examples are giant gold stars that double as a Christmas tree topping, or candy canes that can be hung on the branches.
2. Puzzle. Create a card, then cut up the front page design into relatively medium-sized pieces. Have your special person arrange the pieces to see the picture. On the other hand, you may choose to have the message inside jumbled, instead.
3. Recycle. Use materials that are considered junk, but arrange them in a fashionable manner, like newspapers, magazines, pieces of cloth, twigs, etc. Make use of the colors and arrange accordingly. It is advisable to use shades like green, red, and gold to provide a holiday feel.
4. Food. Use foods that are relatively flat, like biscuits, a square pizza, or a rectangular cookie. Use whipped cream or icing to write a short message and trim with a colorful outline. People are going to enjoy consuming their heartwarming edible card.
5. Book. Instead of the usual two-page card, use several pages that may depict a story, or an exciting message. Stories that personally describe the one who receives the card are the best.
