Wake Up Call is an intriguing paradox of music and lyrics about life and love. One song speaks of the pain of lost love, and the next praises the virtues and pleasures of lasting love. When one song exposes the raw emotions of broken relationship, the next circumspectly celebrates love that lasts. The majority of the songs are about relationships, but there are a couple of toe-tapping feel good country songs thrown into the mix, as well.
The Grammy winning group Rascal Flatts has put together another album that will likely debut as a #1 hit, just like Me and My Gang. Fans at the Rascal Flatts Coke Rewards listening party were overwhelmingly positive about the CD. Many are counting down the days and hours until the CD's release. Others have ensured their quick ownership by preordering the CD.
The first song "Take Me There" is a romantic call for intimacy. It expresses a desire to move into a lover's heart where others have never been. It is a call for trust and vulnerability that can only happen at the deepest levels of intimacy and true love. "Here," a romantic ballad, follows "Take Me There" with stirring lyrics reminiscent of Rascal Flatts' hit song "God Bless the Broken Road." Like "Broken Road," "Here" is likely to end up a new wedding song favorite. The song expresses a depth of understanding that through brokenness, tears, stumbles, and pain, life's path has brought you to the one you are with today.
