Camping is Ideal in the Hocking Hills in Ohio

Camping is an affordable, fun and relaxing activity that accommodates every budget. Camping in the Hocking Hills is a spectacular activity. Not only can you enjoy a serene and peaceful setting, you can observe nature and spend quality time with those you love.

If you know someone who lives in this area, chances are they own property. You could ask their permission to camp on their property. This will allow space, privacy and an extremely peaceful atmosphere. If you cannot do this there are several campsites in the area. There are two in the Old Mans Cave area, and two on Lake Logan. Facilities generally include electric, restrooms and showers. Playgrounds, small outdoor theaters, gift shops and swimming pools are common also.

Camping on a campground does not offer the complete camping experience. If you are a beginner this is going to be your best bet. However if you are looking for the complete camping experience, with no one in sight, no running water, no electric and so on I would recommend checking out the Zaleski Forrest area.

When preparing for your camping trip you will need to stock up on food that can be prepared over a fire, water, and bug guard. You will need a tent, and a ground cloth also. Do not purchase firewood at a gas station. You will pay an outrageous price, and it is very simple to gather wood in the forest. Branches and tree limbs will probably be abundant and scattered all over the ground. It will take fifteen or twenty minutes of your time to gather wood for the fire and save you about five dollars per four or five small pieces. Someone makes a fortune off selling firewood to tourists!

Bring a book or two, camping is an ideal time to catch up on reading and relaxation as there is really little to do while camping. It is a great time for romance also. If you take a private camping trip with your sweetheart, chances are you will stay pretty busy. You will have so much time to lavish your sweetie with attention! It is hard to not feel cozy and romantic around a campfire, while cuddling up with your special someone.
