On our recent trip to Virginia Beach, Virginia, my family and I stayed at the Sundial Inn. The Inn is conveniently located a block and a half from the ocean. The location is also convenient because it is on 21st Street which is the street the Virginia Beach Expressway (264 East) becomes. The price was competitive with other hotels in the area and was actually less expensive than several hotels farther away from the ocean. The price and the location make the Sundial Inn a very attractive place to stay.

The Sundial Inn offers free parking for their guests, which is nice since most of the parking options charge. Including street parking where you have to feed the parking meter. Our room was nonsmoking, with two beds, a 27 inch television set with cable, a safe, and a bathroom. All pretty typical amenities of most lodging areas. Our room also had a kitchenette, with an oven, stove, full-size refrigerator with a freezer department, a microwave, and a kitchen sink. This is very nice if you have a special diet, like to cook, or to have snacks and keep cold beverages available. The kitchenette was also stocked with utensils, pots and pans. The utensils included a bottle opener, which made it a lot easier to enjoy a cold bottled beverage in the room considering I forgot mine. They also have handicap accessible rooms and smoking rooms.

The Inn also had a small outdoor pool. On their website, they call it a "seasonal outdoor pool." However, this was two weeks after Labor Day and the pool was still open. However, we chose to swim in the ocean which was still warm enough to swim in. The warm but not scorching temperatures over the weekend made it a great time to venture into the ocean or pool.
