Fall TV: "A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila"

MTV Helps the Myspace Queen in Her Search for Love

Fans of reality dating shows that have become so popular lately have one more bachelorette to fall in love with. Wacky girl, Tila Tequila, will be the newest lady looking for love on "A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila", airing on MTV.

Not sure you've heard of Tila Tequila? For those who haven't, Ms. Tequila, whose real name is Tila Nguyen, is somewhat of an internet phenomenon. The raunchy model/rapper/singer/actress/blogger was the first Asian to be named Playboy.com's "Cyber Girl of the Month" and is best known for being the most popular person on Myspace.com, with over 1.5 million Myspace friends, and anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 new friend requests each day. Before Tom Anderson, the founder of Myspace, invited Tila Tequila to join the website in 2003, Myspace.com had virtually no members, and after her appearance, there were over 50,000 people with pages on the website.

Now, Tila Tequila is looking for love, and MTV, the network responsible for the reality television phenomenon with their brainchild, "The Real World", is happy to help. However, with Tila's show, as with the diva herself, there has to be some sort of surprise, right? "A Shot at Love" will be groundbreaking, and equal opportunity, too. The Myspace queen and Maxim cover girl has recently come out of the closet, embracing a Bi-sexual lifestyle for all the world to see. So, Ms. Tequila will have the best of both worlds in her search for love, with not only men vying for her heart, but with women as well. The show will have 16 straight men and 16 lesbians living together in Tila Tequila's mansion in the Hollywood Hills, fighting each other every week for her affections. Just like other popular reality TV shows like "Flavor of Love", "I Love New York", and "Rock of Love", each week someone will walk away with their heart broken as Tila asks a contestant to leave. Although MTV has featured a few gay and lesbian couples on their daily dating shows, such as "Next" and "Parental Control", this type of show is a first for the network, which normally does not specifically target the LBGT audience.
