Quilt

As I lay here on the last bed that i'll know,
I remember all the people and all that i've to show,
would fill every mason jar out back in the shed,
for people to tell stories about once I am long dead.

Each memory burns bright and shows the good and the bad in me,
as friends and family gather around so that they can hear and see,
the laughter will fill the room and rattle in my ears,
the sadness will wash me away with all their warm, heartfelt tears."
