Man's Identity Sought in Missing NJ Woman Case

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ - Police are asking the public to help them identify a man in a photograph found on the computer of a missing Evesham woman.

Marianne DeMartin disappeared from her Evesham home Sept. 23, 2005 and has not been seen or heard from in two years, according to a press release from the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office Monday.

Police believe the woman was the victim of a homicide, based on findings during the investigation, the release said.

DeMartin was last contacted about 7 p.m. two years ago Sunday. Her 2001 Ford Mustang convertible was located and a forensic examination determined there was physical evidence of a crime, the release said.

An on-going joint investigation between the county and Evesham police located a photograph of an unidentified male on DeMartin's computer that could not be identified by family, friends, or co-workers, Prosecutor Jack Smith said in the release.

Because DeMartin traveled throughout the country, the photo has been circulated nationwide with no results, Smith said.

The male is not considered a suspect at this time and police would only like to identify him by name, Smith said.

DeMartin, 52, is described as a 5'-6" female with blonde hair weighing about 125 lbs., according to police.
