Multiple-Choice Test Taking Tips

These Tips You Will Increase Your Chances of a Great Test Score

Taking tests while you're in school is part of life. There are numerous books and guides that help students excel at taking tests, however, there are several foundational tips that if you can remember will help you Ace even the hardest multiple choice test. Multiple choice tests are
some of the most difficult, however, with these tips you can ensure a good grade. Of course, you must study and have an overall awareness of the subject, yet there are several tips that will help you make it through those tough questions that you aren't one-hundred percent sure about.

The first tip is very self-explanatory, and should be used no matter what. Make sure that when you're taking your multiple choice test that you read each and every question carefully. Ensure that you fully understand what the question is before you start to find your answer. It is imperative that you fully understand what the question is asking you, this way you know what type of answer to look for. One of the words that you must watch out for is the word "NOT," this word can quickly slip out of a readers mind and cause you to put an incorrect answer.

Whenever you are reading through the questions of the test, make sure you always cross out the answers that you know for sure aren't the answer. Even if you don't know the exact answer, mark off the ones that are obviously wrong. This is like the 50/50 life-line on Who Wants to be a Millionaire, by doing this you will increase your chances of having a correct answer. Another great tip is whenever you are simply "guessing" the answer; always stick with the same answer. An example of this is if you always choose the answer "B" than keep answering the questions you don't know with "B," unless you know "B" is wrong.
