Poll: Voters Trust Democrats More on 9 Out of 10 Campaign Issues

The latest poll from Rasmussen Associates shows that 78% of the voters expect that the issue of government ethics and corruption will play a big roll in how they vote. And 18% think of it as being at least somewhat important.

The number has increased in the last month, up from 74% in August. And one thing that remains the same is that the voters trust the Democrats more than the Republicans when it comes to dealing with corruption by a margin of 40% to 28% and 31% did not give a preference for either party.

Rasmussen takes a look at the same issues each month to see how important they are to the voters and at the same time they ask them which party they trust the most on each issue.

The first issue they looked at was health care and the Democrats get the vote of confidence by 51 to 35% and this is a top issue to the voters too, with 67% saying it is very important.

In a separate survey, they had 31% who said that the health care system is good or excellent, but most are very confident when it comes to their own health care policy.

On the issue of national security 71% say it is very important and the War on Terror gets the same 71% and the economy comes in even higher at 72% saying it is very important.

On the matter of whom they trust on these issues, the Democrats are more trusted on the economy buy 48% to 36% and are in a virtual tie with the Republicans on national security, an issue that the Republicans usually win out on, with the Democrats at 44% and the Republicans at 43%.

The War in Iraq is viewed at very important by 62% of the voters and the Democrats are more trusted by 49% to 38%.

There is one issue that the Republicans are more trusted on and that is taxes, where the Republicans have 44% who say they trust them more and 41% who trust the Democrats more, but it is also the issue that has one of the lowest number of voters saying it is important, 55%.

The issue of abortion is another close one and the Democrats are more trusted here by 43 to 40% with 42% saying it is very important.

Immigration is next, with 43% trusting the Democrats and 34% trusting the Republicans with this being a major issue for just 53% of the voters.

Very nice report. Further, to Joe above, if the democratic party is the party of socialism, what is the Republican party the party of? Murderers of constitutional rights to privacy, free speech, and personal liberty? Or maybe just thieves that empty our wallets and children's college funds? I have to choose between gas and milk. This is why I am neither a dem nor a repub. I am just me. Politics stinks.

The Democratic Party is the party of socialism. Socialism is a natural result of "Democracy." "There never was a democracy that did not commit suicide." - Samuel Adams. The gun that democracy uses to commit suicide is socialism.
