Review: Series Premiere of Chuck
Fall TV
Our ordinary guy Chuck works at a Buy More store as part of the Nerd Herd and plays video games with his friend Morgan. He also lives with his sister Ellie and her boyfriend Captain Awesome. He does not have a girlfriend and pines away for a girl he dated five years ago.
We meet Chuck trying to escape out a window at his birthday party that his sister throws him. Not wanting to meet any of the women she has invited, he and his friend Morgan try to leave, but have no such luck. Chuck is stuck talking to women who would rather be talking to someone else. Flashing between Chuck's ramblings about an ex -girlfriend named Jill and his ex-roommate Bryce running from the CIA, you wonder where all this might be going.
Bryce ends up downloading every secret the CIA and NSA have from a huge computer. After he downloads the information, he bombs the computer and before he is shot dead, he emails this information to Chuck. Chuck opens the email only to be bombarded with thousands of images, all the CIA and NSA's secrets. It kind of reminded me a little bit of the Ring, when all those images flashed really fast when they turned that videotape on.
Anyway, Chuck goes to work the next day only to have these flashes of the images that were downloaded into his brain. When he sees a certain object or person, it triggers these images. When he gets to work, he sees a beautiful woman who needs help fixing her cell phone. Turns out Sarah, is a CIA agent sent to recover whatever information Bryce sent to him. She ends up protecting Chuck from the NSA agent who is also after him. Once they realize that the images are actually in his mind, that his brain is now like the computer the images were downloaded from, they work together to save a general who is supposed to be assassinated.
Afterwards, Chuck is allowed to go back to his life but the CIA and NSA will be watching. Especially the NSA, the guy ends being a new employee at Buy More.
