Just Another Presidential Paradox

As if we needed another reason not to trust a God Blessed word spewing forth from the President's mouth, marinate on this incase you started contemplating listening to his B.S. as official state gospel.

Bush has justified the Iraq war by saying we are engaging the enemy over there so that we can be safe here. That means we need to keep fighting a perpetual war of distraction with the "terrorists".

Also in the same speech, the Prez will say that we will stay in Iraq until there is stability. Stability means no more war with "terrorists" who hate our freedoms, which means we will no longer be fighting them there. So unless we keep invading other countries, then if the terrorists follow the President's logic, they're coming straight for us, which they might be doing again anyway with more hatred and soldiers who have lost friends and relatives to the chaos we have magnified.

Something else to contemplate, and it ain't pretty: the only thing that kept a civil war from breaking out in Iraq was Saddam and his strong armed dictatorship of oppression, mass gassings, torturing political prisoners. I certainly hope somebody will think of something to bring Iraq together or peacefully carve it up, but a civil war might have been 30 years or more coming. You might say this Civil War has been coming since the British and French diced up the Mid East with the purpose of keeping ethnic groups fighting so they couldn't nationalize their natural resources to keep the oil flowing for Europe's emerging airforces after World War I. Then of course came along the growth of the auto industry, and now we got defense contractors to feed.

Part of me says, I was against the U.S. invasion, but now that we're there, we have a responsibility to stay until peace can be established, but then again, I'm not over there patrolling the bomb ridden streats hoping my inadequately armored vehicle will stop the shrapnel that might rip through my guts at any second leaving my wife or family with a husband or son torn apart physically and emotionally.
