I have to admit that I only watched the Fall, 2007 debut of "The Bachelor" because it was on directly after ABC's juggernaut "Dancing With The Stars." In reality, I believe this show should have been cancelled two years ago. It has become an embarrassment with bachelor after bachelor declaring that he's "found the love his life" only to dump, or get dumped by, the girl within a matter of months.

Let's face it, the show's premise is faulty. It is highly unlikely that anyone will find the girl (or guy) of his or her dreams in this kind of situation. The dates are too staged and the situation too unrealistic. However, there is something about watching a bunch of women, who ought to know better, act like fools vying for the attention of a single guy.

This year's bachelor is, once again, touted as "the sexiest bachelor" ever. How many times have we heard that line? More than I can remember, that's for sure.

This year's meat being thrown to the lions, is Brad Womack, a 34-year-old self-made man and entrepreneur from Austin, Texas. He already owns two successful bars and is building a hotel. He admits to being a self-made millionaire.

Brad, however, envies his two brothers who are already married and claims that he wants to find the right girl to settle down with and start a family. He's apparently not afraid of hard work either, having worked in the oil fields and tended bar to save enough money to purchase his first business.

As usual, the show started off with the bachelor meeting a bevy of beauties, all present just to get his attention. There is no denying that this year's crop of women are beautiful and a few are even highly accomplished. The real question is, are any of them sane?

There seemed to be more ladies who couldn't hold their liquor this year and their behavior was more than slightly inappropriate. One beauty lost part of her fake chest while another turned herself into a human pretzel. Then there was the girl who donned a bikini seemingly out of no where and promptly went for a swim.

Still, before the night was over, Brad managed to narrow the list of beauties down from 25 to 15, which included:

Takeaways
  • More girls than ever seemed unable to hold their liquor.
  • A few girls sought Brad's attention by showing him some of their tricks.
  • This year's bachelor is a self-made millionaire and entrepreneur.

These reality dating shows are aggravating. However, the bachelor has seemed to be one of the most popular programs in that category. Great article.

The only season I've watched is the last one with Andy and Tessa. I considered watching this season as well, but when Andy dumped Tessa recently, I gave it up. ;) Good review!

I like this article. I do watch the show and I love it for entertainment purposes and I am a romantic at heart. Also, three couple for this show have or are getting married. Trista and Ryan are married and have a baby boy named Max. Charlie O'comnnell and sarah are still engaged and Byron and Mary are still engaged. Good article.

I agree with you, Charlie. The show is faulty. I enjoyed this review, tho!

Haha! I like your take on this show. I myself have only seen a few episodes of one of the seasons, but I think it is just stupid. The girls are just after money and make fools of themselves, get emotional over a guy they don't really know.

Thanks! Very interesting.

Interesting! I can't bring myself to watch this show, for some reason.

Yeah, why would self-respecting women subject themselves to something like this? Ugh.

His name is listed in the article in paragraph four. I agree with your opinion Lenora. It makes women look like total idiots.

I didn't see Brad Womack by the way. I just saw the name Brad Womack and searched it myself. It turns out Brad Womack is the bachelor. Charlotte - SEO :)

I think this show is a slap in the face of women. However, good luck with this article. The searches on this show and the hunky bachelor, Brad Womack, spiked about an hour ago. Well written review.
