It is an unavoidable reality: we live in a highly sexualized society. One cannot go very far in modern America without being bombarded by highly sexualized imagery-- online, at the grocery store, or even just walking down a street on a warm day. Our society prizes itself on its tolerance, especially in regards to sexual issues. Nevertheless, the results of this "tolerance" is manifest: a soaring divorce rate, large percentage of teenagers engaging in sexual activity, prevalence of pornography, and many other negative consequences. Furthermore, there is a culture of silence about such issues, especially among religious persons; while one's personal sexuality is understandably a private matter, the truth of God regarding matters of sexuality must be clearly proclaimed in our world.

Many would desire to return to some mythic "good old days" when people had proper views of sexuality; unfortunately, such times never existed. Human beings have either been obsessed about sex or the abstention thereof; holistic, Biblical balance has been entirely lacking. Regardless, we live in a rather promiscuous age, and there are many factors that have led us here.

Mr. Ethan Longhenry, I couldn't agree with you more. Sex has destabilized society in so many ways and people refuse to see it. Everyone is after immediate gratification. No one cares about STD's or society's well being. This current trend of sexualizing children in the media is disturbing. You do not have to be religious to view the consequences of these actions. You just have to open up your eyes.

Hypersensitivity; not too surprising. Far greater liberalism is not an impressive statistic: more birth control is used and less marriage often exists. Proportional statistics would be more satisfying. The fruit of modern attitudes is evident in the pain and suffering that thousands have suffered thanks to the "sexual revolution". If you dispute this, there are plenty of places in this country where you can go and see its effects. It's not "my limited ideal"; it's the Creator's plan for the creation.

A very thinly veiled attack on non-Christians in America. You attack tolerance, like it is something to fear. Then you suggest that because of tolerance we have "sex" problems. First, many countries with far more liberal sexual attitudes have far lower divorce and teen pregnancy rates. Second, you attack women, although you label it "feminism." Then you attack every form of sexual expression except for your own very limited ideal.

Sexual repression and religious beliefs are what cause pain and suffering, not to mention mental illness and intolerance. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to check out some porn and wait for my live-in girlfriend to get home so we can fornicate. And my gay friends will be by around eight for some wine and cheese. Kindly stop spreading hatred by keeping your lunatic prejudices to yourself.
