If your a woman chances are you won't worry about looking after your face until it is way too late. If you do wait too late to take care of your skin, you will have no chance of slowing down the aging process and the effect it will have on your skin. The best time to start looking after your skin is in your late teens. The best way to start is with a daily routine of clening,toning,exfoliating and moisturizing your skin. If this daily routine is followed you will feel better about yourself and your skin will begin looking and feeling better.

The first step to a healthier face is the process of cleansing your skin. This process removes dirt,makeup build up and other impurities that clog your skin. This step is very important, it should done at least twice daily. The type of cleanser you choose depends on your skin type. It needs to be a cleanser that removes impurities without leaving residue and doesn't removw your skins natural oils. Do not clean the skin with soap, it takes away the skins naturally acidic protective film. There are two types of cleansers, oil based and cream. The oil based cleanser will work on any type of skin and the cream cleanser works best on dry or rough skin. When using a wash off cleanser you should apply it to damp skin and then reemove with warm water.

The second step to a healthier looking face is skin tone. The purpose of skin toner is to rehydrate,nourishe,cool and restore the PH balance of your skin. The best type of skin toner to use is one that an astringent effect. A toner with an astringent effect tightens the skin and closes the pores so that your skin is not exposed to airborne toxins. When selecting a skin toner make sure it is alcohol-free because the alochol can dry out the skin.
