Many people suffer from acne. And, there is a huge supply of remedies to be found in the health and beauty aids aisle of most department stores and drug stores. But, sometimes the natural remedies are the best and most potent. Here are some suggestions for those who suffer from acne and do not want to use the harsh chemicals from the drug store. As with any natural remedies or other medicines, always check with your doctor if there is any doubt or if any adverse reaction is experienced.

A decoction of the leaves of the plant Burdock makes a very helpful facial wash to help the skin heal. Let one teaspoon of the root stand for 5 hours in a cup of cold water. Then bring the mixture to a boil. Use at least once a day. However, do not ingest if you are pregnant. A decoction of English Walnut also makes an excellent decoction for washing the face to prevent and treat acne. Four teaspoons of leaves or green shells that are chopped should be mixed with 1 cup of water.

The root of the Echinacea is thought to purify the blood. Taken internally, this herb is believed to help clear up eczema, acne and boils. It is used externally as an antiseptic. Fragrant Valerian is also excellent for acne. The tea can be taken internally and also used as a wash for the face.

For troublesome cases of acne, prolonged use of a decoction made from beans is very effective. Kidney, green, navy, pinto, snap, string, and wax beans can all be used for this remedy. To make the decoction, use anywhere from 2 tablespoons to 3 handfuls of dried beans in 1 quart of water. Boil this for three hours. Take one half to three quarters of a quart a day.

A tea made from the leaves and plant of Wild Strawberry should be taken internally and also used externally to help with acne. It is also helpful for eczema, as well. The wild varieties of strawberry have much more medical value than the cultivated varieties.

Tea Tree essential oil can be used as an antiseptic. Dab it onto the blemish at regular intervals. It is gentle to the skin and helps speed the healing process.
