Is your teen wanting to earn some extra money this summer? This is the perfect article! Teens don't need much spending money, but they probably want to make more money to buy an expensive gift for themselves or someone else. Here are five tips to help your teen earn extra money.

1. Helping senior citizens with yard work. Teens can help senior citizens throughout the summer with yard work such as pulling weeds, mowing the lawn, and gardens. They can also do other things such as planting a garden or trees. Yard work does pay well for some extra cash. Look in the newspaper for any help wanted ads for yard work or ask your neighbors.

2. Get a part time job at a mom and pop shop. Teens can get a job at a mom and pop shop candy store. Mom and pop shops often need summer help. They often have easy jobs such as cashiers and cleaning along with other basic jobs. Ice cream places usually need help during the summer too. They usually have help wanted signs outside their buildings instead of advertising in a newspaper.

3. Host yard sales. Teens can host yard sales on the weekends for senior citizens and other people. People make quite a bit of money on yard sales if they host yard sales on a regular basis especially during the summer. People who host yard sales usually get a hourly wage or they get a commission off of everything that they sale. Since commissions aren't usually a high percentage then it is usually best to choose hourly wage instead of commissions on yard sales.

4. Sell a craft. If your teen likes to make crafts then he or she can sell them to make some extra money. You can sell crafts at flea markets, consignment shops, and on the Internet. Many places also have craft fairs each year. Mom and pop shops will usually let people sell crafts in their store for a fee per month. Some people sell many crafts to make enough money as a full time job. Look a variety of places in the newspapers in your local area to sell your crafts.

Takeaways
  • Sell Scrapbooks
