Homemade Halloween Treats

Easy to Make, but Oh so Delicious

Halloween is right around the corner and one of my favorite ways to spend the holiday is to make homemade Halloween treats. Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year and I make just as many homemade treats during this holiday
as I do for Thanksgiving or even Christmas. Here are just a few homemade Halloween treats you may want to try.

Homemade Halloween Treats #1: Peanut Butter Eye Balls

Everyone has made buckeyes. You know what I'm talking about. Buckeyes are delicious peanut butter balls that are dipped in chocolate. You can easily make this into a homemade Halloween treat. Just make the peanut butter center as normal and then dip the center into white chocolate. Allow the chocolate to set and then decorate the candy to make it look like an eyeball. Kids and adults will love these.

Homemade Halloween Treats #2: Blood Cups

A really easy homemade Halloween treat to make are blood cups. For blood cups all you need to do is melt a 12 ounce bag of milk chocolate chips with a third of a bar of paraffin wax. Once the mixture has melted, brush the inside of silicone baking cups with the chocolate. Allow this to sit for a moment and then spoon in some strawberry jam. Carefully add more melted chocolate to the top and then place the cups into the refrigerator until they have set. Serve at room temperature. Kids will get a kick out of the "blood" that oozes out of these cups. You could also use cherry jam if you prefer.

Homemade Halloween Treats #3: Witches' Fingers

Another homemade Halloween treat that is sure to be a big hit are witch's fingers. For these cookies, all you need to do is mix a roll of store bought sugar cookie dough with some green food coloring. Once the dough is colored, take sections of the dough and make finger shapes. Bake the cookies until they are golden brown and then allow the cookies to cool. Once the cookies are cool, use vanilla frosting to attach a piece of candy corn to the end of each "finger". These are so easy, but so much fun.
