Morelli's Cafe Italiano: A Bit of European Culture in Ellensburg!

It is finally here, well actually, it has been here, for a year and a half, but it just wasn't noticed as much as it could be. Ellensburg finally has a touch of good Italian food right around the corner from you! Placed in the center of town next to "The Gym" and "The Soup Bowl", Morelli's Cafe Italiano is waiting for you to come and taste their excellent authentic Italian food.

When you walk up the stairs and into the inside of the cafe, you can't help but feel as if you are not in Ellensburg anymore, but rather on a small street in the heart of Italy. Rustic wood floors and and old fashioned deli case greet you (of course, it is stocked with authentic Italian sauces, meats and cheeses). The inside is on the intimate side, but the front opens up into a patio for a "rural meets rustic" setting on the corner of 4th and Main. Ran mostly by the family, you just feel Italian oozing all over you when inside.

They have a unique setup as far as ordering is concerned. Patrons come to the cash register to order then they find themselves a seat, either inside or out. At their seat, there is already fresh water with glasses awaiting them on the table.

Their food is brought out to them, and customers are waited on with exquisite customer service, just like any other fancy Italian place. When I was in there the other day, I could not believe how many customers the owners new! They greeted each person by name, and everyone chatted just as if they were all old friends. It was quite an amazing environment.

Customers have more choices then imaginable from panini to pasta salad, to homemade Gelato to lasagna. They also have many choices for drinks, from domestic beer to imports from Italy and Germany. There is also several choices of local wines and Italian wines. Soda is available, or of course, you could have yourself an Italian Creme Soda. Your taste buds will not go unsatisfied at Morelli's. On the contrary, you will be left with wanting more and more!
