As "Heroes" began its second season on Monday night, fans are already pondering the question, "Who is the traitor?" As the secondary characters are brought to the forefront in the first episode of this highly-acclaimed drama, viewers are introduced to new heroes, reintroduced to their old favorites, and reminded that nothing is ever as it first appears.

As last season drew to a close, we were given a glimpse behind the veil to see that the original heroes were those who now seem to be evil and whose children are our current heroes. Who are these characters? Who would dare to betray his/her fellow heroes and why? Before we plunge headfirst into this season's plot twists, let's take a moment to consider our suspects.

1. Claude Raines (Invisibility) - (played by Christopher Eccleston) It's easy to forget about this devious character, who once worked with Mr. Bennet (Jack Coleman) and The Company. Until recently, he was thought to be dead by those who work at The Company, but his recent appearances training Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia) have brought him back in their "sights" again. On the one hand, he seems to have an axe to grind with The Company; on the other hand, we were actually able to see a cloaked character push Mr. Nakamura (George Takei) off the roof. Has he developed his abilities to be able to determine when he is invisible? Whether or not he is the traitor, I predict that we have not seen the last of Mr. Raines.

2. Thompson (Unknown power) - (played by Eric Roberts) Although we saw Mr. Bennet shoot and kill his boss, Thompson, in last season's episode, "Landslide," we have never truly seen what Thompson's powers are. As one of the "top dogs" at The Company, Thompson could possibly have developed powers we haven't seen. Can he heal himself like Claire (Hayden Panettiere)? This one may seem farfetched, but you can never be sure about anybody on this t.v. show! Surprises lurk behind every corner.
