It is the NFL season once again, and Regis Philbin, host of Live with Regis and Kelly, has made his pick for which football team is going to reverse their bad luck from the previous year and actually get into the playoffs after the end of this year's regular season. Philbin's field of possible picks includes any team which lost at least ten games the previous season. His pick this year? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Philbin said on Tuesday's Live show that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will "surprise the NFL" this year.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Have Seen Many Years of Ups and Downs

According to the team's website, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a franchise which won the Super Bowl in 2003 after going 12-4 in the 2002 regular season under then-new Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden, has since been to the playoffs just once, losing against the Washington Redskins 10-17 in the January 2006 playoff game held in Tampa, Florida. Following three wins out of four games in the 2007 preseason, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have won two out of their three games this regular season thus far.

Coming off a 6-20 loss season-opener against the Seattle Seahawks in a road game, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have won their previous two games. They defeated the New Orleans Saints 31-14, and trounced the Saint Louis Rams 24-3---both of the Buccaneers' wins so far this season have occurred at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

If "Reeg" picked them, it MUST be a solid pick. Good article.
