We love to eat out. We do so at least once a week if not more so. It isn't always cost effective to do it, so every little bit helps. It's hard to pass up free food offers but you may not know they exist. I've created a list of finer dining restaurant chains that offer free appetizers. These are national offers. It seems like it is the thing to do with a restaurant's website. Get customers to sign up and offer them something for free, in this case a free appetizer. If it were a place you frequent often, it wouldn't hurt to sign up for their newsletter. Many of them offer special monthly deals through this avenue. And if you go often, you will enjoy the offers and news of new menu offerings.

According to the National Restaurant Association, Americans eat almost 30% of their meals away from home each year. If we present that number differently, there are 52 weeks in a year. 30 percent of that would be 15.6 weeks. That's 109.2 days each year that we eat out on average. I think that is a lot of business per person.

If I am going to spend that much money eating outside my home each year, I could stand to save some money or at least get a perk for doing so. The opportunities I am going to share with you are just one way to save while dining out. Frequent dinning clubs or other coupon programs are another way to save.

Each opportunity varies. Some are printable coupons you can use right away. While others you will need to join their newsletter or email group and wait for the coupons to arrive in your email. Most are for a free appetizer while some restaurants offer more. This might vary as an example, the Fox and Hound or Bailey's offer a free entree on your birthday. Other restaurants may share with you their menu changes or new entrees. If you try them you might get a free appetizer or such. I recommend joining email or newsletter groups for those restaurants you frequent often, otherwise you may be give offers you just don't need.
