I am sure many of you have heard of the popular game Monopoly created by Hasbro. You know the game where you buy and trade property, while paying others when you land on their space. But did you know they are coming out with a new improved version? It will make game play easier and more with this generation, while making game play more fun. Monopoly came to be in the times of the depression. It was a chance to play like you had lots of money and property when many did not. It was also a chance to have some fun in a time that was very hard. No wonder the game became so popular. There are now tournaments around that world that play for real money.
The new version of Monopoly is very much for this century. In an age where many do not use cash for purchases, this game has come just in time. The new version contains debit cards instead of cash. This allows for less time spent preparing for the game and dishing out cash. Instead of giving a person cash for landing on their property you swipe your card through a handheld machine that transfers the money onto the other persons card.
This version first came out in Britain; however it hadn't caught on in the U.S. until recently. Hasbro has just decided to release this version of the game. Its commercial is currently on the television and I am sure the game is on the shelves of many stores already. This will be a hot item; I am sure during the Christmas season. This idea is so fresh and new who wouldn't want one under their Christmas tree?
This new version of the game will allow easier game play along with a fun and interactive way to play. Players can now focus on the game rather than how much they owe each other. Many parents have objected to the idea of not using cash since it doesn't teach children to add and subtract like it once did. However this game is a great way to teach children how to use debit cards. So in the future they may be more responsible with them. With times changing who knows how much longer cash will be around. This version of Monopoly is paving the way of the future, one hat, dog, and thimble at a time.
