The Kitchenaid KG300 Box Grater has been serving me for the past three years and I don't think any other grater in the market is as durable as this true kitchen mate. This is my pet cooking tool and I use it almost everyday and this is still in good condition. My kids love to have grated cheese spread on almost all the recipes and I bought this especially to grate cheddar and mozarella cheese. This really grates them perfectly in the required thickness without breaking or crumbling the soft cheese. The Mozzarella cheese that comes in the ready to use grated form is not fresh and you won't get the desired chewy consistency. This is an outstanding grater that shreds cheese amazingly.

Though there are many graters in the market, most of them are not efficient in medium grating. This is a fantastic apparatus that has three grating blades for fine, medium and coarse. The fourth side sports a slicer blade. This looks like a box and all the four sides of it are used for a specific purpose. The fine blade is for cheese, chocolate, bread; medium for vegetables and fruits and the coarse blade for non succulent vegetables and roots like beets, carrotsand potatoes. What surprises me is that this grates everything without squashing, smashing and squeezing the stuff. It is not like those cheap graters that take the juice and core out while shredding.

The Kitchenaid KG300 Box Grater cost me just $19 and its superior performance is compared to that of the expensive and highly advanced graters. This comes with a plastic container that easily slides and sits inside the domestic device. This is a cool addition because as the grating proceeds, the shredded items fall directly in to the container without spilling out. This has a close fitting lid and once the work is done you can close it and store in refrigerator. I am not sure about the quality of the plastic and so I use it only for holding cheese.
