A lot of people can't get into work in the morning without making a quick stop at Star Bucks or another coffee shop and picking up their favorite caffeinated beverage of choice. Many financial gurus have argued that by cutting out these small costs that add up over time and investing that money instead individuals could have a lot more money saved for retirement. It sounds like a good idea in theory, but for seasoned caffeine consumers, it can be hard to switch over to the coffee at work or making some Folgers' coffee at home. Fortunately now there's a way for consumers to drink gourmet coffee in the morning without paying the premium price of going to Star Bucks in the morning. A number of gourmet coffee companies have created special one-serving coffee makers that allow you to brew gourmet coffee in the comfort of your home. It's very convenient because it's entirely premade, and there's no mixing or measuring. All you need to do is pour some water in the coffee maker and put the little container in the machine and a few minutes later you've got gourmet coffee ready to drink.
Companies are making a killing on these products because they're making a great profit on each serving of coffee. They're not doing as well as Star Bucks which is making a fortune on their over-priced coffee, but they are still making quite a hefty sum of money. With these single-serving gourmet coffee makers, you'll end up paying 30 cents per each cup of gourmet coffee. This isn't nearly as low as the 4 cents you would pay for a typical cup of standard coffee, but it's a lot better than paying $3.00 for a caffeinated beverage each morning.
If you were to save $2.70 a day by having your gourmet coffee at home, the coffee maker would pay for itself in less than a month! After that, you would still be saving $80.00 each month or about $1000 each year! That's a lot of money for changing where your coffee comes from each morning! The exciting possibilities of the money you could save only get better when you consider investing that money into a mutual fund over a long period of time.
