Most everybody knows by now that dial up is still around and that you can get free internet access throught NetZero / Juno. What we tend to forget is that we can get internet access at the library for free.

I walked in today (this is where this is written from) and got a usable library number for two hours on the internet without getting a library card. There are restrictions depending on how the administrator setup the internet for each library.

This will come in handy when your internet happens to be temporarily turned off, or whatever you case may be.

NetZero and Juno are pretty much one in the same, they are just designed differently in some ways. You can still pay a small fee to get more than ten hours a month if you need more than that. They will ask for a monthly fee through your bank or you can send a money order for a years payment. As mentioned earlier, you don't have to pay for them, and they will come in handy as a back up internet source when your service goes down for whatever reason. You will need a phone line, what some are calling a land line. Weird, huh.

You can call your local Chamber of Commerce for locations of libraries in your area, or if you have a phone book you can look it up as well. Those of you who have internet access on your phones...well...more power to you.

Hopefully you find this information useful, and you will pass the word on to those who are internet challenged.

Did You Know?
Internet access can be free at almost any library.

Sorry that is not entirely true any more. Net Zero and Juno now charge for service. Otherwise a good article.
