Adobe Photoshop CS3 is a great program for image editing and so much more, but it is complicated. Not just everyone is going to purchase the program and start right in on their photo editing and create professional photographs right off the bat. You need practice with plenty of help and the best way, especially for beginners, is a good book.

A good step by step guide will help you understand every aspect you need to know to start using Photoshop CS3 and edit your photos. One-on-one by Deke McClelland is a fantastic way to not only familiarize yourself with the changes from earlier Photoshop editions if you're a returning customer but to learn all about the important parts of Photoshop CS3 for new users as well.

You will go from the essentials of Photoshop CS3 like navigation, opening photos and how to get around in the program to complicated editing like the professionals do. The book one-on-one takes you from installing the program and opening your first image to printing out that image using the correct settings for the best results.

If you have used Adobe Photoshop CS2 and want to know the newest changes to the program and what those changes have done to Photoshop CS3 this book shows you. The one-on-one book also comes with a handy tutorial on disc from Lynda.com that goes along to show you that change from the previous edition to the new one.

The lessons that are covered in both the book and the DVD are a great guide to what you want to be doing and helps familiarize you with the program and many of its basic features. The tutorials start off with navigation to help you get around the program and setup of Photoshop CS3. You will proceed through many aspects of editing an image that are common for every picture that you could be doing on your own in minutes after watching the tutorial.
