German Band Rock Ignition Plays World Class Rock

Heather Shockley is the talented lead vocalist for the German hard rock band, Rock Ignition.

Born in beautiful Mallorca (Spain), Shockley is one of the shining stars in this very talented band. She has a powerful delivery and the lyrics are clear and true. There is no mistaking this artist's passion and love for her music.

Add to this mix Shockley's 10 years as a professional dancer and you have an artist who truly performs.

I recently, had an opportunity to touch base with Shockley and ask her a few questions.

RSP Spotlight: What do you love most about the city you live in?

Heather Shockley: I live in Krefeld, a small city in the mid-west of Germany. And although it is considered to be an industrial area, Krefeld has a lot of nature and a really big and beautiful park, which is the best place to relax and find inspiration for my song writing.

RSPS: What are some stand out sites you like in your city or the surrounding
areas?

HS: Apart from the park which is called "Stadtwald"; there's a beautiful part of the city called Krefeld - Linn in which you can find a very old and fascinating castle from the middle ages. The castle is a very attractive spot and tourists come from all over Europe to see it. One of the big cities, only about 20 minutes away from Krefeld, is Düsseldorf; a perfect place where you can take a nice walk along the Rhine River or enjoy a shopping afternoon in the Königsallee.

RSPS: Why do you personally love the style of rock you and the band play?

HS: I grew up in the time where great bands like Skid Row, Aerosmith, Europe, Mr. Big, and Bon Jovi were all still a big part of MTV and the radio. A time when self-made bands still had the chance to be big and show people what good music is all about. (Well-played music with lots of melody but also kick-ass rock n' roll!) That's what I love about my band Rock Ignition, and what I believe and fight so much for. We wanna give our fans exactly this type of feeling when they put on our CD at home or in their car; great hard rock full of melody, energy and passion that will make you wanna rock with us forever!

RSPS: Where was the first rock concert you ever attended and which bands
did you see?
