Annual Job Quitting Day 4: Lawsuits, James Bond, Hunting, Weddings and More
Not so Current News You Might Have Missed
Ever go to a local cafe, restaurant, work etc. and hear people talking about the most outrageous stories that you wonder if they could possibly be true? Well if today is one of those "I WISH I COULD QUIT MY JOB" days then lean back in that chair and relax for a moment and get a couple laughs out of these weird, but true news stories.Read the following paragraph; James Dr No From Russia With Love Goldfinger Thunderball You Only Live Twice On Her Majesty's Secret Service Diamonds Are Forever Live And Let Die The Man With The Golden Gun The Spy Who Loved Me Moonraker For Your Eyes Only Octopussy A View To A Kill The Living Daylights Licence To Kill Golden Eye Tomorrow Never Dies The World Is Not Enough Die Another Day Casino Royale Bond
Looks like someone just mashing together all the James Bonds films together right? Well in November 2006 it was reported that a 23-year old that lived in Walsall, Staffordshire actually changed his name to the paragraph you just read above.
In the United Kingdom emergency calls run to the number 999 as opposed to 911 in the United States. While playing pranks over the emergency lines is no laughing matter, you have to laugh at the initial reason for a few of these calls:
"I've had a dream that I was unconscious and I've just collapsed."
"Help! My trousers don't fit."
"I need someone to change the television channel."
"I've broken my fingernail. HELP!"
Ridiculous lawsuits are one of my favorite things to search for on the Internet, and here are some I have come across recently:
Picture a woman cleaning your house and picking up this beautiful candle on your mantle and deciding, "Hell, this looks like it would be a nice addition to my house, I think I'll take it!" Goes home, puts the candle on her dresser and lights its only for it to blow up in her face!
This happened in Grand Haven, Michigan where the woman who actually stole a firework that was mistaken for a candle sued the homeowners citing that there was no warning label on the item.
