Veterans Day Parade in Milwaukee,Wisconsin
Remembering Veterans in the Mid-West
So When's the Parade. This year's calendar has resulted in a very diverse scheduling of Veterans Day Parades in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and across the nation. November 11 falls on a Sunday, a day not favored in some areas for public parading. This has meant that some locations will be parading a day later or a week earlier. In Milwaukee Wisconsin, the Veterans Day Parade will be conducted on Saturday November 10 at 11 a. m . Special honorees will include former POW/MIA veterans and their families. During a time of active warfare it is more than appropriate to pay special tribute to the unique suffering and hardship endured by those among our veterans who have served out part of their active service as prisoners of war or have been designated as missing in action. Honoring such veterans pays honor to their sacrifice to their deeds and gives support to their families.
Unique Parade History in Wisconsin. For some 37 years the Veterans Day Parade in Milwaukee, Wisconsin was a tradition, but as we moved closer and closer to the new millennium it was determined that the original support that had once fostered this parade was on the decline. The parade reluctantly was abandoned .
