Gossip Girl: The Fallout

Fall Tv: Gossip Girl

Last week, Serena returned home to the fact that her mother was hiding her brother in an asylum after a suicide attempt. By the end of the episode, she repaired her relationship with Blair, tried to avoid Nate and their one night together, was almost assaulted by Chuck, lost her cell
phone, accepted a date from the adorable and funny Dan, may have made a friend in Jenny, not invited to Blair's party, had her date with Dan cut short to go to Blair's party, was then ignored by Dan, re-lost her friendship with Blair (even if she didn't know it at the time), and saved Jenny from an almost assault from Chuck before riding off in a cab with Dan and Jenny. Whew! The girl was busy.

This week's episode started with the fallout of that night. Dan is obviously concerned with his sister's mental state after her attack from Chuck. I have to say that I absolutely love Dan. How could you not find a boy who obviously loves his sister so much that he would drop a date with his long-time crush o check on her? Not to mention how cute he was waving Serena 'goodnight'. That's right, I said 'waved her goodnight'.

Serena is obviously confused about the level of Dan's interest in her. Who can blame her? The boy didn't walk her to the door and gave her a goodnight wave. If he wasn't so cutely nervous when he did it, I am sure that Serena wouldn't have given a second thought afterwards.

Dan and his wave has to go on the back burner because Serena has a bigger problem to deal with; Blair and her coldness at the party the night before. Serena assures her mother that she will go to Chuck's father brunch after talking things over with her best friend. She shows up at Blair's place, equipped with croissants and coffee from Tiffany's, and is instantly faced with Blair's continued bitchiness. Serena learns the reason her best friend isn't acting much like a friend and is warned to stay away from everyone she knows.
