Those who don't have a porch don't have to miss out on decorating if they have a balcony, and you can decorate your balcony for fall just like anyone with a porch. Depending on the size of your balcony, it might be necessary to scale back the size of your outdoor décor, but it's possible to create a unique display worthy of any porch on the cover of a home improvement magazine. Try the following unique ways to decorate your balcony for fall. Not only will you impress passersby, but you'll also enjoy your balcony and the wonderful autumn season more than ever.

Fall Lighting Options

Lighting options are of course more limited for a balcony, but fantastic decorative lighting options still exist. Consider installing low-wattage rope lights around the perimeter of your balcony. These indoor/outdoor lights are encased in translucent vinyl, and they are available in a wide-range of eye-catching fall colors.

Unique lantern-style electric lights are also a great option to help decorate and light up a balcony. Check online for electric lantern-style lights, or visit your local home improvement store. Alternately you can use candle lanterns. You'll discover numerous options that will decorate your balcony in ways you never thought possible.

Wheel Barrow Display

Just because your outdoor haven is a balcony doesn't mean you can't decorate with a unique wheel barrow display. Before you decide your balcony is too small for a wheel barrow, wheel barrows aren't all full-size and meant for farm chores. Look online for a small metal or wooden wheel barrow, or check your local craft store. Partially fill a wheel barrow of your choice with hay or straw, and add colorful fall gourds, small pumpkins, and Indian corn. Light the area with a unique electric or candle lantern placed upon a small bale of hay or straw, and you'll have an attractive display to celebrate fall.

Excellent tips. You have proven that fall decorations don't always have to be garish and ghostly. Now everyone has an attractive alternative to the severed heads, flying witches, and bloodly limbs they usually put on their balconies! :)
