Special Edition: Goin' Topless and Gettin' Dirty: Day 2
Heat number one saw Sarasota's Danny "the hammer" Martin Jr. and Mondays flipper Daron Clayton on the front row. Eight caution free laps went by and the win the was picked up by Jon Stanbrough, followed to the stripe by Brady Short and Chris Windom. Heat two was brought to the green by Indiana's Brett Burdette and Robbie Vaughn of Mt. Vernon, Washington. And again by the time the checkered dropped the fans witnessed Monday's dominator Jesse Hockett pick up the victory from the fifth starting spot. Rounding out the Top 3 were Joe Sciscoe and local Gibsonton driver Greg Leonard. After Mike Weber, still working the bugs out of his ride, opted to start at the tail John Heydenreich and Indiana female standout Arin McIntosh led the field to a Heat number three green flag. Heydenreich went on to take the caution free race win over 1980 Indianapolis 500 lap leader Roger Rager and Kevin Briscoe. Shane Cottle and Tracy Hines made up Row 1 of Heat 4 and went to finish in that order with Hines' teammate Levi Jones finishing third. Heat 5 brought a last lap pass from inside row two starter Mike Brecht over pole sitter Danny Smith and Billy Puterbaugh Jr.
