Chicago are going to be voting on their favorite landmarks to save their historic sites, these landmarks have been around for centuries and have a lot of meaning to Chicago. If someone like a particular site they can actually vote on it to help keep it standing for many more centuries to come. You can vote to keep the site at partnersinpreservation.com/openhouse. Their variety reflects the diversity, cultural heritage and vitality of Chicago's communities. Here are some of the many sites in Chicagoland listed below there are many more.

ABLA Animal Court Sculptures: During the Depression, the living sculptures supported a sense of community and a spirit of hope for the families who lived in the first Chicago Housing Authority complex, and to this day they're still provided with this hope for their families, and they hope that it will always be there.

Chicago Cultural Center: This is the first permanent public library in Chicago, the great building was completed in 1897 as a magnificent symbol of Chicago's rising importance as a major commercial and cultural metropolis. So, you see it has been around like before we were born, and is amazing that it's still standing, Chicago is big on their cultural and it has always meant a lot to the Chicagoland.

Fountain of Time Sculpture: Some of these sites, I never even saw before, there are so many, this historic site is 102 foot long sculpture is the masterpiece of the Chicago sculptor Lorado Taft. it depicts 100 human figures, with a hooded figure of "Father Time" watching from across a rectangular reflecting basin.

South Side Community Art Center: This is a Georgian Revival-style residence, converted in the SSCAC in 1940 with a strikingly modern Bauhaus interior, it contains a large and important collection of artwork by prominent African American artists. Being an artist myself I would love to visit this great historical site someday to get some in site on my own art. Most of the sites many haven't even heard of yet, because there's so much to see in the Chicagoland.
