Indoor air quality could be something you're already familiar with, you've heard the Oreck commercials, or perhaps even bought a single-room air unit. You might have even put in a whole house filter that just isn't doing the job. Regardless of what has already happened to you, even if it was a bad experience, the problem with indoor air is nothing to turn a blind eye towards.

Studies have shown that indoor air can be up to 100% worse than the worst kind of outdoor air. The simple reason is that air can freely move about outside, and inside we have a closed environment where we simply recycle the air inside without hardly getting anything new.

Particles such as dust-mites, mold, and many other common household irritants, have the potential to cause headaches, illness and even cancer. This comes about from a buildup over a long period of time. Even if you don't experience anything when you first move into a house, after a time you could find that these effects start to take over. It's because your body was fighting against these toxins the whole time and now you're body is starting to get overwhelmed. This is a common occurrence and many people simply push it away as either age or other minor problems. The fact is this doesn't have to be normal.

By filtering out the air properly you'll find living conditions improve, especially if there are those in your family who have allergies or asthma. I've seen first-hand how a friend of mine who had allergies was having problems with the air, but after filters were installed her problem went away and she's been doing fine since then.

But there are many different kinds of filters, and the most common one is the paper filter. The problem with this filter is that they are normally only 2% effective against the 20 Million+ particles in a cubic foot of air. You can purchase better paper filters, but it then costs you more in your furnace bill because your furnace has to work harder to pull the air through that thicker mesh.
