You can make frost, snow and ice removal much easier simply by covering your windshield before nightfall. You can use bags or cardboard to cover you windshield at night. Just get a piece of cardboard big enough to cover your windshield and place it so the windshield wipers hold down the cardboard. The windshield wipers keep the cardboard in place pretty well and in the morning when you take off the cardboard your windshield will be clear of frost and ice.
You can also use paper bags to cover your windshield up. Take two paper bags and open them up as big as you can and place them on your windshield. Then tuck the paper bags under the windshield wipers so that they are held in place by the windshield wipers. In the morning you can go out and remove the paper bags and the windshield will be clean under the place that was covered by the paper bags. If you don't have any paper bags to cover your windshield with you can use some cloth or old clothes to cover your windshield with.
If you hear that an ice storm is coming to your area it is a most important time to cover your windows. An ice storm can be near impossible to get the ice scrapped off of your windshield. By putting on some window protection you can eliminate the need to scrap off ice that accumulates on a windshield during an ice storm.
By planning ahead, especially if you hear a storm is coming, you can save yourself a lot of time and energy scrapping windows this winter. It would be nice if we all could have a garage to store our cars in but if you don't there are some things you can do to make your life easier.
