Halloween is one of the best times of the year for little kids. They get to dress up and pretend to be a monster, a famous celebrity or athlete, or whoever or whatever they want to be. They also get to go out and get buckets of candy! Halloween is great for little kids.

Face it, though. Halloween is great for college students as well. It gives students another reason to throw an awesome party. It also gives students the chance to have fun by wearing costumes of their own. Of course, the costumes that college students will wear are slightly different than those your elementary student may pick out. Here are my favorite Halloween costumes for college students.

First Halloween costume for college students: Your favorite band or music group

There are plenty of reasons why this is a good idea. It allows a group of people to dress up and then go out together. There are only about a billion music acts to choose from, giving the group a plethora of choices. This idea is also very cheap. One year my roommate and I went as the Gallagher brothers from Oasis. The next year three of us went as the Beastie Boys from the music video "Sabotage." I don't think we spent more than 20 dollars on either costume and both were a hit.

Second Halloween costume for college students: Any of Will Ferrell's characters

Will Ferrell has been in some ridiculous roles in his lifetime. Have all of them been funny? Not really. Do they make fantastic ideas for Halloween costumes? Absolutely. Two years ago my roommate went as Ron Burgundy and just last year some friends of mine went as the entire news crew from the movie. This is another great idea that won't cost very much money at all. Fake mustaches are cheap and are always fun.

Third Halloween costume for college students: Mario and Luigi

Good ideas! It would be great to see 6 people as beer bottles! I myself am thinking about being Amy Winehouse this year.

Hey, I gave your article 5 stars for the photo alone, and the article itself was great! Face it, you'll always be a big kid at heart, lucky you!

I like the Joe Paterno idea. Too bad Chuck Amato's not a head coach anymore. He'd make a good person to dress up as on Halloween.

haha.. We always just dug through our party clothes and shared around the dorms to find the perfect items for our outfits. You would be amazed at what people have in general for party clothes.

Mario and Luigi is a good idea! Will Ferrell's characters could also be cool... especially Buddy Elf! Great article!
