The Rough Sea Plum is a type of soft coral. It's very popular because it's beautiful. It comes in purple and many other colors such as green and yellow. This coral is somewhat easy to take care of as long as you have a really good saltwater light. You will also need a canister filter so that you can produce a good amount of water movement. You will need to make sure that you place the Sea Plum close to the filter system so that the water will flow directly on the coral. You can move the coral close to the powerhead. You can also purchase a wavemaker to place on the filter system so that water will be produced in all different directions.

If you want to keep the Sea Plum alive you will need to keep the salinity around 1.023 to 1.026. You will also need to keep the temperature around 73 to 76 degrees. You can purchase a heater that will keep the temperature above 73 degrees and you can purchase a chiller which serves as a heater and will also keep the water cooler than 76 degrees. Usually, your water will get heated up because you have your saltwater light on for too long. You will want to make sure that the light isn't on more than six hours per day.

This coral, like some other types of soft coral will require some supplements. Most coral will need more supplements that your average soft coral. Usually soft coral doesn't need a lot of supplements or light. This coral will require iodine and trace elements as well as strontium and calcium. This coral can also harm different pieces of coral in your saltwater tank. You will want to make sure that you keep coral at least three or four inches apart from the Sea Plum. The Sea Plum can get very large and it will quickly grow to reach other pieces of coral.

You will want to make sure that you remove any algae which is stuck to the coral. This algae will often times cause your coral to decay. Once you see the algae on the coral you will need to gently pull the algae off of your coral. You will also need to remove your coral from your fish tank or you can choose to use safe medication when your fish happen to get sick. You will need to treat the water because that holds the cause to the illness or disease.
