Rubber flooring tiles have long been used in commercial applications but are now becoming a popular option for private residences. Rubber flooring tiles continue to be used because of their resilience and durability. Places like home gyms, mudrooms, even bathrooms are an excellent place for rubber flooring tiles, and with new designs they will integrate with the rest of the decor in your home.

Rubber flooring tiles were often used in gyms because they absorb sound rather than reflecting it like other materials such as ceramic tiles or wood floors. This makes them an excellent option for home gyms and garages, where you might want to muffle sound while providing a durable surface. The fact that they are burn resistant also makes them an excellent option for a workroom.

Unlike other materials, rubber flooring is an environmentally friendly material. It is often made of recycled materials, and if you decide to remodel the rubber flooring can be recycled. This is in sharp contrast to other flooring materials that are comparable in durability, such as vinyl plank floors or composite floors.

Not only can they be recycled, but rubber flooring tiles can last 15 to 30 years with very little required maintenance. Mopping and wiping up spills are all that is generally required to keep the rubber flooring in excellent condition. Sweeping twice a week is also recommended to prevent dirt from being ground into the floor.

Rubber flooring tiles are very slip resistant. However, if you ever do happen to slip, the rubber absorbs part of the impact, making the fall less damaging than if you had fallen on traditional ceramic tiles.

If you do decide to install this material, there are many patterns and colors available to you. In addition to a smooth surface, there are tiles with stamped patterns on the surface. These patterns, normally geometric, have a more industrial appearance, and are more difficult to clean. However, they provide even more slip resistance for areas that might need it.
