Sony PSP Fall Preview
The Sony PSP got some excellent games from long-standing Playstation franchises this fall. While hardcore gamers will be in nostalgic bliss, newcomers to the games will get to see what the fuss is all about. No matter if you experienced the games before or not, the fall lineup for the Sony PSP is looking excellent. Here are the top five PSP games this fall.
5. Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow
Publisher: SCEA, Developer: Sony Bend, Release Date: October 2, 2007, ESRB Rating: T
The sequel to the much underrated Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow will please both new and old fans of the series. Logan's Shadow is basically the same solid action game with some minor gameplay and graphical tweaks. The excellent online multiplayer returns with eight players support and two new modes. In addition to the engrossing story, Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow looks to be a worthy sequel.
4. Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness
Publisher: Nippon Ichi Software, Developer: Nippon Ichi Software, Release Date: October 30, 2007, ESRB Rating: RP
Disgaea came out of nowhere and became a smash hit for the Playstation 2. The deep strategic gameplay (a la Final Fantasy Tactics) and quirky but lovable story was so popular that it influences many Japan-only games into coming stateside. Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness will have additional content such as additional missions where Etna is the main character and multiplayer mode. Therefore, the PSP version will be the ultimate experience for Disgaea.
3. Silent Hill: Origins
Publisher: Konami, Developer: Climax, Release Date: November 6, 2007, ESRB Rating: RP
It has been three long years since the last Silent Hill game. Despite being a prequel storyline wise, Silent Hill: Origins marks a new beginning for new franchise. Silent Hill: Origins' gameplay is what you expect from the series: eerie atmosphere (some of the best in the business), tough puzzles and psychological terror. Silent Hill: Origins will do more than hold Survival Horror fans over until the release of Silent Hill V next year.
