Halloween and its sequels are all really good choices but the movie Halloween in itself is seemingly complete. Michael Myers the supposedly bogeyman who kills all of his sisters friends and then goes after her while she is babysitting leaves you with a feeling of what Halloween is really all about. It sets the mood.
Friday the 13th and its sequels are all gory and scary. Friday the 13th with its bogeyman named Jason leaves you with the feeling so this is what all those spooky stories told around a campfire is all about. At least this could be the feeling for the counselors of camp crystal lake who are being chased by the little boy, now grown up, who was thought to have drowned beneath the lakes waters.
Jeepers creepers is another bogeyman movie. The bogeyman in this show can fly. It chooses its victims because of an individual body part it wants and it won't stop till it gets it. It will take the body part from its victim while they are alive and screaming.
Candyman is a disturbing movie in that according to legend you can't say this bogeyman's name three times in a row. If you do he will come after you.
Texas chainsaw massacre will take you on a good run. The bad guys in this movie cut people up to put in their famous chili. The older version is more heart pounding than the remake. The remake isn't supposed to be as gory but it's still gory. In one part of the movie a guy gets lifted up off the ground by a hook and left hanging.
Poltergeist is a classic ghost movie. It has some disturbing moments where a raw steak crawls along the countertop, stops and its insides explode outward and a parapsychologist helping to investigate the haunting rips his face off.
The ring is a spooky ghost story that could remind one of an urban legend. After watching a particular video the phone would ring and after that in three days time you would die.
